PSU compatibility for MOBO

Hi.

I am getting an MSI Gaming M7 AC motherboard, together with the Ryzen 2700x and RX 580 GPU.

Bought this (CM MWE 550W 80+ Gold Fully Modular) PSU, but just noticed that it only comes with one 4+4 pin CPU cable, while the MOBO has a total of 16 pins (8+8) for the CPU.

Should I return this and buy another PSU? Or am I good to go with just one 4+4 pin cable? I have read from other sites that the 2nd 8 pin CPU slot for the MOBO is unnecessary and can be used only if I am planning on OC-ing.

No, the motherboard doesn't need both 8 pin EPS connectors populated.

The second connector is only for extreme overclocking.

A single connector can safely transfer up to around 300 watts to the processor. A Ryzen 2700x without overclocking will maybe peak at around 150-160 watts, so there's plenty of reserves with just one connector.

If I ever need a 2nd CPU EPS in the future, is it possible to buy one online?

If you know the pinout on the Board, its possible, yes.

If they use the same pinout as my 750W semi Modular Xilence Performance X (same Manufacturer), its easily obtainable as its 8pin EPS with the right layout even...
