Weird computer behavior

Basically at idle my computer was using 40% of its 16GB DDR4 3000MHz ram. Yesterday while I was working my computer froze (Probably cause I had 12 Chrome tabs open, Two UE4 projects open and Blender open has well). After I turned it back on I did all the checks and everything looks completely fine..besides my computer's using only 20% of Ram at idle...Any idea why or if this is bad or good?

(I'll post specs I guess)

GTX 1060 6GB

Ryzen 5 2600x

CORSAIR Vengeance RGB 16GB DDR4 3000MHz

Sounds like a memory leak

If ur using programs it will use more ram even if the PC is idle, if the programs are open or not.

You could try and download CCleaner and use that to disable most, if not all, things on startup. I usually only keep my A/V software enabled on startup. Makes booting much faster. Also, some programs are dumb (no, the programmers are dumb) and when you 'X' out the program, it just minimizes it to the tray (seriously, if I wanted to minimize it, there's a fucking button already so I'd use it. Man do I hate that). So make sure you actually kill the process(s) related to those programs (be it in task manager or just right clicking them in the tray).

 

EDIT: I forget Windows 10 is much easier to disable shit on startup, so you don't really need CCleaner to do it.

Got a problem now. I can't open chrome at all, I've reinstalled it multiple times as well deleting all its data, Using CC cleaner and even using the standalone chrome installing nothing works oof (If i try to open chrome all it does it open the crash reporter and crash handler as well as two empty chrome processes)

I used to have that issue on my old laptop. I don't recall how it got fixed. I've since switched to Fire Fox, and honestly I recommend the same. I don't like Google, they're a data mining monopoly. The only Google thing I use is YouTube and the search engine itself.

 

Did some quick internet digging and found someone who suggested that Windows was randomly disabling the Google Chrome Services, if you go into the Task Manager and under services, and restart the services, Chrome should open.

Tried that but no dice. Some odd reason running chrome in win8 compatibility mode gets it to work (EXTREMELY slow and usable though).

I know we get data mined, hell I wouldn't be surprised if it's happening on this forum. But it's hard to support a company like Google, or even Apple, when they act the way they do. I don't subscribe to their heinous bullshit. I use what I need from them, that's it. I don't put my damn life on their servers. In fact all they know about me is the weird shit I end up searching because of watching the Rooster Teeth and AH podcasts (they always talk about weird things). I'm well aware that cookies easily tell what I'm "interested" in. As soon as I search for something like "steel toe boots" on Amazon, then I'll see adds for them (though, I use an adblocker so I don't really see them). A good VPN with multi hop, a trustworthy DNS, and that's about all you can really do anymore. Don't go telling me I need to live in a damn cave.

At this point, I don't really know what else you could try. Maybe hop in safe mode with networking, then do an uninstall and reinstall. It's also not unheard of for an antivirus program to block Chrome, so check that as well.

A good VPN with multi hop, a trustworthy DNS, and that's about all you can really do anymore. Don't go telling me I need to live in a damn cave.

At this point, I don't really know what else you could try. Maybe hop in safe mode with networking, then do an uninstall and reinstall. It's also not unheard of for an antivirus program to block Chrome, so check that as well.
