BF4 FPS fluctuation

VitalBlindFury

When I play BF4 the fps fluctuates like crazy. It goes from 75fps down to 40fps constantly. Im playing at high settings on a HD 7970 and an FX 8320.

Are there anyways to prevent this?

Turn off V-Sync

Limit FPS to 60 to avoid tearing

Wait for BF4 to fix their god dam drivers, I am running the same rig as you and I get this problem quite a lot, That or your card is throttling form heat.

Try turning off vsync if you haven't already. I have this problem. If I had vsync on it would frequently drop from 60 to 20. Now I drop once in a while from 80 to 50ish.

Make sure your cores are un parked and trun your settings down to keep the fps at like 120....

There's no such thing as stable FPS in BF4 right now. You might get close by adjusting some setting bit lower and others bit higher. But basicly its high when there isn't much stuff on screen and drops when you get into huge crowd fight with choppers, tanks and explosions (like in Golmund A-B fights).

Yes there is...mostly,..... I'm 5fps either side of 60fps 97% of time 2xAA everything else on Ultra.

I agree when there is a HOLYCRAP Huge plume of smoke and explosion in my face it drops, but its never as bad as OP is experiencing, and it happens in almost every game regardless of it being BF4.

(Unparking cores, BF4 is pretty sensitive to this, pretty much the only game that benefits a great deal from it)

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz
