Hi Guys,

So i upgraded my Gpu because my Gtx 970 blackscreened into a reboot under heavy load.

Now with the new Gtx 980 ti in, it will bsod into where i need to unplug to make a restart, just by launching tombraider etc.

What could be causing this?

My first thought was powersupplyunit but mine says it's 600W, which should be enough right?

 Here are pictures for my Psu and my Pc Config

Please tell me what could be the issue.

Still unsure about that psu... It's the KL-C600

@1kv

It's Blackscreening as soon as i start a game.

But here is a log from gpu Z of me starting tomb raider if that helps at all.

GPU-Z gtx 980 ti.txt

Temps are like 50ish

The log goes up to the point where it blackscreens from showing the main menu for half a second.

a psu shouldn't cause a bluescreen... the label seems to indicate nothing that strange... 40 amps on the 12 volt should be enough

and 500 continous should be enough (it isn't a 600 continous, as far as I can see)

try uninstalling all old and your current graphics drivers, and download the most recent stable version on the nvidia website

blackscreen... not blue,total power out to be exact. Are you taking my hdds and stuff into account when you say it's enough?

Also what makes me question the psu is this :http://www.realhardtechx.com/index_archivos/Kolink.html

it's the KL-C600 there that's only saying 480W

Kolink's owned by Noctua and they've been around for a while.

Noctua makes psu's? that's new to me...

everything is taken into account... it might just be faulty then... replace it with a higher quality unit

@LukeSavenije

Sorry can't trust a guy that ends every sentence with...

You can't differentiate between black and blue and not between manufacturers or owners,try reading stuff with more attention to detail...

I'll just hope to see someone come along that seems to be knowing what he's talking about, no offense...

Thanks for your effort...

Ways for a new forum member (on any forum) to get their posts ignored #124: Slam a veteran poster with 1606 times the number of posts they do, much less one of the forum members actively working on PSU Tier list updates.

That aside, anyone could have just googled Kolink and found the blurb about them on Noctua's website.  They're also affiliated with CaseKing.  Digging into it further, Noctua is a joint venture between the Taiwanese branch of Kolink and Rascom.  The PSUs are actually not under Noctua, but in reality CaseKing's house brand.  This explains rather succinctly why none of us 'across the pond' have really heard of them: they are a recent addition to the North America market.  In the EU, they've been around for a while, and they're considered middle-of-the-road from a quick search.

Back to your problem:

I would think they only way a PSU could contribute to a problem that seems to be specifically when you launch certain programs would be if that rail couldn't provide the power the GPU's demanding.  That's a stretch though.  I'd look at the easy stuff first...OS corruption, like in DirectX libraries, driver issues, etc.  I didn't see in your original post where you tried anything, and it kind of bothers me that you jumped directly to assuming the PSU was the culprit.  Spec-wise it seems fine.
