Upgrading / Changing my PC.

I’m re-looking at the chart above, and it says that the CPU is “too weak”?

To shorten this up, if I were to keep my GPU (RADEON 580), what could/should I jump to with a Ryzen cpu?

If you need to upgrade now. Then a 2600. If you can wait a couple months. I'd say wait for Ryzen 3000. Looking at the rumours. You'll be able to get 6 core cpus cheaper than you can now or for the same money get 8 cores

I recently bought a PC from SkyTechGaming, and I am looking into further upgrades. I only really play Destiny 2 and do normal work on this machine.

Currently

Case: InWin101 Case (Black)

Motherboard: ASROCK A320M

RAM: 16 GB

GPU: AMD Radeon RX 580 (4GB)

CPU: AMD Ryzen 3 1200

PSU: 750 Watt

SSD: WD 500GB SSD

HDD: 1 TB

What I think I may do:

Replace my CPU with a Ryzen 5 1600 or so.

What I’m asking:

What do I need to change?

Would a Ryzen 5 1600 be good, or is there something better?

Is anything bottlenecking each other?

So... I would wait until you can upgrade both your CPU and GPU :^)

Upgrading your GPU and CPU would likely yield better results for Destiny 2 and other games you may want to try later down the line. However AMD should be announcing new CPU's in the next couple of weeks so wait until then as the older CPU's will drop in price

Wait for Zen 2 chips to get onto the market (maybe in a few months) and then decide what CPU to upgrade to.

Seems like quite the overkill PSU in that build tho. Wait for after CES. Hopefully prices of current gen Ryzen will drop

Yes it does.

It "works", but it's not exactly 100% right. It doesn't take into account different resolutions for CPU bottlenecks and the fact that even if a CPU can handle a better GPU, it doesn't mean the GPU itself is a "bottleneck".
You can certainly use the site to give you an "idea" of whether or not you have a potential bottleneck, but please don't rely on it like gospel. A GPU being "too weak" for the CPU is perfectly fine if it's the best your budget can afford.

As for OP, I'd suggest waiting a bit, newer Zen 2 CPUs should come out this year (they'll be announced next week) and they should be compatible with your motherboard (update the BIOS of it before switching CPU), even the lowest end should be better than your current one.

If  I were to switch CPU and GPU, though what would you recommend?

not on  A tight budget, and I live in Washington

And, yes, I am OK with waiting for anything .

Just out of interest, what website is this?

Also OP, you should probably wait for the Ryzen 3000 series. They look to be a massive step up over the current gen and especially first gen Ryzen chips (I say that owning a Ryzen 5 1600)

Probably wait for the Ryzen 3000 (like I said above) and probably either get a GTX 1070/ti or if you can stretch to a 1080. Or you could always wait for Navi

based on your requirements the 2600 would be a fine choice, it should work great with your gpu.. You don't name any particular reason why you should upgrade your gpu
