Hi I have been trying to reset my Windows back to factory settings. During the process, it was working pretty well and now for the past 30 minutes it's been stuck at 32%. Is there anything I can do to help this problem? Or can I restart my computer and do this some other way?

Thanks,

sailboatking

If you have a hard drive activity LED, is that flashing?

I've had a similar thing happen where my Windows update froze at 33% for a while and I had to boot into safe mode and rollback to a previous restore point.

@Crunchy Dragon You're talking about the light on the case? Yes, it's on but not really flashing but more just on and not really flashing.

I'd wait another 30 minutes before trying that, then.

If you have another PC, I'd download Microsoft's Media Creation Tool and just clean install Windows 10 anyway.

@Crunchy Dragon How would I do that if it's already resetting? I do have another computer to install media creation tool. My concern is that I also have a 1 TB hard drive that needs to be cleaned too. Should I just format that afterwards?

Yeah, don't use the reset process.

Do a clean install the proper way: https://www.howtogeek.com/224342/how-to-clean-install-windows-10/

Oh man I wish I saw this before I started. Can I still somehow do it this way?

I mean yeah you can do this any time.

Just don't have any other drives plugged into the computer and make sure all your data is off the drive you're going to wipe and install on.

Well it is stuck on the screen at 32% of the reset. I am not sure how I would get back into Windows while it is resetting. Plus I need to wipe the other 1 TB hard drive I have with this computer too. Do you know how I can do this?

If you have important data on the drive you need to install on you could plug it into another working PC and just copy the files off of it.

You don't need to worry about your other drives, if you want to wipe those you can do it after you install windows.

Just don't have them plugged in while installing.
