@UnAdmin If you are using Windows Areo then it will also have to render the see through bars.

I think it's still because windowed mode doesn't have hardware acceleration enable for it. Not sure if that got changed in Win7 though.

I think it's more because the OS doesn't have to stress as much running background operations by putting non-essential or non-game related software into "sleep-mode".

I think that full screen runs better because it can exclusively own the video buffers.

Personally after some little tests, the games I play run better on Full Screen mode.

Well, most games seem to like fullscreen better. Silly you. But what about snake, with crazy BF4 quality graphics?
