Hello I have a asus tuf z270 mark 2 motherboard and a intel i5 7600k. I am looking to upgrade my CPU for better streaming and running multiple games at once (mainly emulators for android games). it has the LGA1151 socket. Am I able to upgrade to the i7 8700k or do I have to stick to the 7 series of processors? I am unable to find a answer to this by simply googling it got some different results. Thanks so much for your help

if u want to use the same motherboard the best you can get is a 7700k, though a better spec'd setup of z390 ud+9600k doesn't cost that much more.

doesn't the 9600k actually stack up against the 7700k quite well?

it's probably better once overclocked.

Like @xg32 said, the best you can get a is a 7700k. The reason you can't use the 8700k or a newer chip is because the chip set and how it's laid out eliminates the chance of using the older Z170/Z270 chip sets with newer CPU's in the LGA1151 socket.
