PC Wont boot!!!

DiabeticSeizures

I have fully built my computer, tear it down again, tested some parts, and then built it up again. And it still won't boot. I can hear the hard drive motor running, but I don't hear the head actually moving. There is no display out either.

All I ever do at this point is play Destiny 2.  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It's kinda sad...

Can you get into BIOS or do you not get any video at all?  Does your motherboard have a display for troubleshooting codes?

The motherboard does not have a code display. I'm getting no display at all, but the monitor that I'm using does detect that it is plugged in.

All I ever do at this point is play Destiny 2.  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Can you try plugging the monitor into a different display out port?

I currently cannot, but I do know that the motherboard is not supplying any power to any of the USB too, because my RGB keyboard does not have any lights going, and neither does the numlock.

All I ever do at this point is play Destiny 2.  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Since you've built and rebuilt everything I'm assuming you've checked and double checked all power cables, data cables, RAM slots/seating, etc.

Do you have a parts list?

Couple things as I read through the thread:

A monitor will detect if something is plugged in even if it's dead, so that is indicative of nothing.

Does your motherboard have lights, if so; are they on?

Can you give us a PcPartPicker list of your build so we can actually help you?

Brands I wholeheartedly reccomend (though do have flawed products): Apple, Razer, Corsair, Asus, Gigabyte, bequiet!, Noctua, Fractal, GSkill (RAM only)

Was just about to post this, you may need to update the BIOS on the motherboard for it to support 2nd gen Ryzen.

Yep, BIOS update for sure. If you dont have a Zen 1 chip you'll likely have to bring it to a shop. Imo, you under spent on the Motherboard. B450 would have been far more appropriate.

  • 3 weeks later...

Update: I updated the BIOS, put in the 2600, and it still won't boot. None of my accessories are getting any power.
