Hi Guys, I am looking for some help with my new build. I have been working out the bugs slowly as they come along but I cant seem to figure this one out. its probably something simple but I am new to troubleshooting computers so after reading many things on the internet I still cant get this problem fixed. so the problem is that sometimes not always when my computer wakes from sleep mode it moves the curser for about 5 seconds before freezing. most times this happens is when I have been watching Netflix before falling asleep and an episode ends and the system goes to sleep. when I wake up in the morning and wake the computer up it freezes. and i have to hard boot it. if i wait it will not unfreeze but my fans will start running at 100%. after i hard boot it, it corrupts some files and i have to repair the system. something to note is that after i repair the system and get logged back in i do have to re sign in to Netflix. I am not sure if this is part of the problem or just an effect of the hard boot and repair. I have checked for all windows updates and driver updates. I also disabled Intel management engine interface from turning off to save power. made sure that the power supply is not in eco mode. I have read that it could be a bios update but I am holding off from doing that until last due to the possibility of bricking the motherboard. Another note is that when the computer goes to sleep, one of the two ram sticks RGB's goes to default and starts doing rainbow lighting. the other stays with the current settings. im not sure if this has anything to do with it or not but I figure the more info the better. the specs of my system are as follows: Motherboard- ASRock Z390 Extreame4. CPU- Intel Core I7 8700K coffee lake. Ram- two 8GB Corsair Vengance RGB. Graphics- Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070. Storage- 240GB corsair MP300 ssd & 1TB Seagate hdd. Optical Drive- HL DT ST BDDVDRW UH12NS40. PSU- EVGA GQ 750 watt. running Windows 10 PRO.

I have thought about that and am willing to do so but before going through the process of reinstalling windows I wanted to ask and see if their may be some sort of conflicting settings that I could try first. but thankyou for the reply and I will keep this in mind I nothing else solves my problem.

Have you tried in safe mode?

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

I have not tried to boot it in safe mode. but I'm not sure if it will help. i am able to put the computer to sleep manually via the start menu and have no problems. its only when it sits in sleep mode over night or I'm assuming an extended length of time. I have tried this route a number time with and without various programs running. I do not believe I will be able to run Netflix and let it sleep over night in safe mode. if I am incorrect please let me know and I will try this option tonight. thanks for the reply.

I think sleep mode functions are unaffected by safe mode so you should be alright to test it

ok will I be able to run Netflix in sleep mode or do you think that it running is irrelevant to my problem? thanks again.

Netflix should be a non factor, and regular web browsing should be unhindered in safe mode.
