Would this laptop be able to run GTA 5 on lowest settings?

I just got a laptop from a goodwill that was selling it cheap it to a problem i think i can fix.

 

It is a Lenovo ThinkPad T540p 20BE.  It has a i5 4300M,2gb of ram and no hard drive(and no power cord,which is $10 on amazon),but it does have dual band wifi,and has a free m sata port,and intel HD4600.

Now i have another weaker laptop that had a bad battery and missing keys that has 8GB of ddr3,and i am just going to take the ram from it for this one,and i have a few drives i can put in.

 

Now i don't really can about the settings i run the game at it is mainly because I run a FiveM Server and would like to know if i will be able to use the laptop to jump in and deal with problems on the server if i am away from home.

So even if i will get 20-30fps i will be fine with it.

 

Also i picked it up for $45, did i get a good deal?

As far as I know, no. Not on any intel integrated graphics.

Well i tend to take gameplay videos on laptop with a grain of salt,because my last laptop "should" have been able to run it according to videos like these,but in real life it got like 5 fps.

Yeah. Even a dedicated GPU is gonna struggle on most laptops if not a gaming one. Personally save the heightbreak. I mean, how much is a games console these days?

Have a PC? Cost of games console to upgrade to GPU.

Have a Laptop? Cost of games console to upgrade to ... um... games console. XD

800x600 and barely getting 35 fps, and frame times are probably garbage. I'd say don't do it. Your experience would be awful.

Well my main use of it to jump in and check on my Fivem server when i am away from my main pc,

 

If it is not usable with that i am ok with it,I got the laptop cheap,and thought i'd see if it would work for that.

 

I mean i only paid $45 for it lol,plus it is better than my last laptop.

Better go with GTA San Andreas with that type of Hardware. Even  if you get the game to start with lowest everything i guess not more than 15 FPS with GTA V.

If that's all you're going to do and you're cool with ass fps, then it can't hurt to try since you already have the laptop.

you didn't read his whole post, like I didn't. He is just going to attempt to use it to check in on a server not actually play the game for enjoyment lol

Well i got to wait for a power cord first, it had juice when i bought it to test it,but it ran out after a bit lol.

Well I have a HP Elitebook 8470p with an i5 3320M and HD4000 Graphics (more specs in signature). It runs GTA V at 1366x768 and low settings with like 20fps. I was running it from an external USB 2.0 HDD with bad sectors so it would freeze for a moment when driving fast, but it should run fine otherwise (if I have time I can test it). Also when I tried the game the laptop had 6GB DDR3 1333MHz, so now it might be better, especially if I put the game on my iternal SSD.
