Need help with graphics card on upgrade

Hey, so sorry for not knowing much about builds in advance. So I’m planning an upgrade on my acer aspire tc-280 where I’ll add a new 600 watt psu for future upgrades and most likely a 1050 ti or similar card. My main question is how do I find out which version of the pci express slot I have as that will have an effect on what I buy. I’m also up for suggestions on gpus to buy in the 200-400$ Canadian range if I don’t use a 1050, Thanks!

PCI-Express revisions are both backwards and forwards compatible - you can put a PCI-Express 2.0 card in a 3.0 slot and vice versa. It'll just run at the lower bandwidth of PCI-Express 2.0 in this example.
