Black Ops 4 constantly crashing

I'm having trouble with my graphics card running out of VRAM on Black Ops 4. Especially while playing the Blackout mode. When I first launched the game I experienced 4 crashes in 30 minutes or so.

I then followed a guide that would give you good FPS performance for 1440p (mind you that I am playing the game at 1080p 144 Hz). Still I experience crashes. I can get by in standard multiplayer games without crashes but the Blackout mode seems to crash eventually not matter what.

The graphics guide I followed

Let’s start optimizing the game now. We’re aiming for 90 FPS on 1440p resolution with a GTX 1080. Please adjust accordingly.

  1. Launch Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.
  2. Open the graphics menu.
  3. Set Display Mode to Fullscreen.
  4. Set Display Resolution to your monitor’s native resolution.
  5. Set Render Resolution to 100.
  6. Set Vertical Sync to Off.
  7. Set Texture Quality to High.
  8. Set Special Effects Quality to Medium.
  9. Set Texture Filtering Quality to Medium.
  10. Set Model Quality to High.
  11. Set Screen Space Reflection to Off.
  12. Set Small Object Culling to Medium.
  13. Set Special Effects Shadows to On.
  14. Set Shadow Quality to High.
  15. Set Dynamic Shadows to All.
  16. Set Weapon Shadow to Off.
  17. Set Anti-Aliasing Quality to Medium.
  18. Set Ambient Occlusion Quality to Medium.
  19. Set Motion Blur to Off.
  20. Set Subsurface Scattering to On.
  21. Set Order Independent Transparency to Medium

I've closed every other single program while playing. Even dropbox, OneDrive and Corsair Link. If I can't fix this today I think I'm gonna ask for a refund. I expected more than this running it on a GTX 1080.

Any suggestions?

No takers?

Ran 4 passes of memetest 86+ and memtestG80 and found no errors.

Shameless bump
