I can't run games without v-sync

I have a vega  56 with a core i5 8400 with 8gb of ram.  This computer should be able to play fortnite with no stutters right but when i play this game without vsync the game stutters like crazy.  Is this normal and if not what can I do to solve this problem.

What resolution and settings are you playing Fortnite at?

 

Is your PC's power plan set to high performance (if not, set it to high performance and see what happens)?

 

And wdym by "it stutters"?

Frame drops. I am playing at ultra settings

This is probably a monitor issue, what resolution and refresh rate is your monitor? And what FPS do you get with v-sync off?

the refresh rate of my monitor is 75hz.  Without vsync about 120 going down to 70 after jumping from the bus.  But usually around 100 on the ground.

That's likely why you are experiencing those issues then, it is fairly normal to see. The FPS is quite a bit higher than the refresh rate of the monitor thus causing tearing and micro stuttering. This is because the monitor is always having to keep up with the FPS being displayed out. The only way to really avoid that is keeping v-sync on or get a higher refresh rate monitor.
