Black ops 4 is a newish game and treyarch for some reason hasn't optimized it to run better. Same thing happened with PUBG, but Bluehole ended up fixing it.

yes, but keep in mind last time I checked (and this may be different, I have not played cod in quite a few) it locks to 90fps max.

edit

I see bo4 has a higher cap and I see some gtx 1080 gameplay with much better results on high, sop something going wrong if you get that on a 2080 low

syntax nah thats not the case it capped at 90 in the beta but my friend has i7 4790k and 1080 and he runs at 140 to 160 fps so that why i was asking on this

yah see that video I posted. 2080, 1440p, shows his settings. Make sure drivers are up to date and start looking for issues.

Btw, other games work correctly, right?

would playing in 1080p instead of using 1440p make a difference to the card as the 2080 was designed for 4k

no you should crush it in 1080. The performance may scale differently at different resolutions, but you'll pretty much never have a performance penalty for playing at a lower res.

nah i play csgo and i max out at like 300fps which isnt the best as the game is running at 1280x960

also the drivers are all up to date

csgo is not a good indicator. I had a card that's 10 years old that plays it like that at max.

ye downloading a few games tonight like skyrim and overwatch, rust and will test them tomorrow and see what the deal is thanks mate

no games on it yet? If you just built it, make sure you plugged your monitor into the gpu not the ports on the motherboard.
Even if you know what you're doing, it's easy to make this mistake if you're not paying attention. I see this all the time so I thought I'd mention it.

Come back with your results and quote me or @Syntaxvgm so I get a notification

so the older cards such as 1080 will be running the game better than a 2080 is what you're saying
