Y Jack splitter problem

Hi, I bough Y jack splitter so that I will be able to connect my speakers and headphones into my motherboard which is Gigabyte Z87X UD4H but when I do that then my sound is reversed (Left Speaker/Headphone plays on right side and right plays on left side). There is no issue when I connect speakers/headphones without splitter but then I cant use both at the same time.

I looked up into settings but I couldnt find any option to reverse sides. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

That's interesting... I'm doing the same thing as you're trying to do, but everything works... Could be because i've got a sound card but idk.

The jack must be physically wired in reverse. There isn't really any other compelling explanation.

Go to a local hardware store or electronics store, or order online maybe, and cut open the input end of the cable and add an aftermarket headphone jack wired correctly, test to make sure that the channels are properly wired before putting shrink wrap over the cable.

Of course you could just return it, but doing this is much easier.

something like http://www.amazon.com/NYS231G-3-5mm-Stereo-Nickel-Housing/dp/B0066AZB9S/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1389495499&sr=8-6&keywords=stereo+plug

buy that, solder the wires to the terminals (you have to unscrew the sheath for that) or coil and electrical tape it then cover the end with heat shrink.

shouldn't cost you more than a few bucks, or euro equivalence.

you can also buy something cheap like http://www.amazon.com/C2G-Cables-40645-Stereo-Adapter/dp/B000J1H4VI/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1389495747&sr=8-8&keywords=stereo+to+RCA

pair that with http://www.amazon.com/C2G-Cables-40424-Stereo-YCable/dp/B001B8QUS6/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1389495747&sr=8-4&keywords=stereo+to+RCA

and you can flip the channels by pairing white to red, but this will probably degrade quality and to what degree will depend on wire quality.

Thnaks, but I dont have tools for that and getting new splitter would be much easier.

Besides this splitter is brand new. Unfortunately I got it in another city so returning it is out of question.

I just tried several devices with hit and same problem so you are probably right about wires connected inproperly.

You don't have a pair of scissors and electrical tape?

Yes I do, somewhere in cellar there should be electrical tape. But finding it and repairing is a lot more work than getting another splitter.

http://www.ediscomp.sk/4world-audio-adapter-1-x-jack-3-5-mm-na-2-x-jack-3-5-mm-2440.html it does not cost a fortune.
