IPS LED vs IPS

Simon771

I might be a bit ahead of myself with Navi hype, but if it turns out to be performing at RTX 2070 performance for like 300€, I will surely buy it.

And I would like to pair it with 1440p 144Hz monitor with freesync.

Now I'm looking on caseking.de to find perfect display for me, but I'm not sure what "IPS with LED back lighting" means.

Currently I have DELL P2416D which is 1440p IPS display 60HZ (overclocked to 75Hz) -->

And I'm deciding between these two:

Acer Nitro VG270UPbmiipx -->  https://www.acer.com/ac/en/GB/content/model/UM.HV0EE.P01 --> https://www.caseking.de/en/acer-nitro-vg270upbmiipx-68-58-cm-27-zoll-144hz-freesync-ips-dp-hdmi-tfac-057.html

Acer XF270HUA --> https://www.caseking.de/acer-xf270hua-68-58-cm-27-zoll-144hz-freesync-ips-dp-hdmi-tfac-039.html

The first one seems to be LED IPS, and 2nd is just IPS. But somehow I can't find official details about 2nd monitor.

Would the first one offer me about same color depth as my current monitor? If not, what differences can I expect?

Sadly I don't have an option to go and see those displays in some local store, since in my country they aren't even selling those, so I would just order it from Germany.

Any other suggestions maybe on 1440p 144Hz freesync display? I would prefer IPS, since I had TN before and I don't feel like going back to it.

IPS and IPS LED are the same thing. In fact, all modern IPS panels have LEDs for backlighting. The days of CCFL bulbs are long gone.

Well that's great news, so it will cost me only 400€ for 1440p 144hz IPS monitor with freesync :)

Now I just have to hope that Navi will in fact be able to achieve at least GTX 1070 performance for less than 300€.

Dont get to hyped for Navi.

it is most likely that any high end GPU AMD develope wont enter the mainstream 'gamer' market.  (so no 1080ti/2080 / 2080ti competition)

Expected AMD to compete for price/per at the low to mid range.

Also dont expect their best offerings, those that compete with 1070's and above, to cost much less than their curent vega cards.

I'm also skeptical about Navi performance to compete with latest Nvidia ...

But I do hope they will make some GPU that has performance of at least GTX 1070, and cost under 300€. That seems possible if you ask me.
