Help with high CPU temp

Would the sharp bend between my GPU and CPU be causing my high idle CPU temps 56C or should I be looking for another issue.

When is the last time the loop has been serviced?

CPU: AMD Sempron 2400+ / MOBO: Abit NF7-S2G / GPU: WinFast A180BT 64MB / RAM: Mushkin DDR333 256MBx2 / HDD: Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 120GB

What are the specs of your system including loop components. That kink doesn't look too bad but isn't the best for it.

prolly look elsewhere, not really to severe of a crimp, but also not necessary (next chance redo that and whats on the res end as well).

Doubt it, the bent isn't out of the norm.

Thank you. Think it may of just been miss reading the temp in the bios. Installed windows and HW monitor is getting 25C that seems more reasonable to me. Think I should look at the fans on the rad as am using some odd brand RGB fans. Have some old noctua fans from an old build I will dig out tomorrow should drop it lower?

EK SE240 RAD & EK cyro fuel fluid.

 

Have changed the off brand fans on the rad to Corsair SP120s

 

Still having a little problem getting temps 25-30 idel but after being under load using prime 95 for 30mins temps are around 60-70 mark that seem to hot for me at stock?

 

This is with a 4770k stock and GTX 980.

 

Have drained and taken the sharp kink out of the loop, re seated the CPU.

 

Any ideas what to check next?

What program are you seeing the temps with and are you doing any synthetic loads or just gaming to see those numbers?

Using HW monitor for temp and running syntheitc (Prime 95)

Are you able to watch water temps at all? Is the settings stock on the cpu? Is it a ek block that’s input/output specific?

My 4770k idles low just like all of my cpus but I don’t use the default settings of 1.45 volt or so on the core.

25-30C for idle temps seems good to me and 60-70C won't hurt the CPU, but on stock I would expect it to be a bit lower.

Then there is left that you're cooling a CPU + GPU with only an EK 240SE. The rule of thumb is 120mm per component + 120mm. Which means in your case you would need at least a surface total of 360mm². So I would add another radiator, preferably a 240mm one if money and space allow it.

Never realised the plus 120mm bit. Unfortunately dont have space for a second 240mm but do for a 120mm will get one on order. One thing I have noticed is after running a stress test and getting the temp up to 70C it seems to stick around the 65C mark until the system has been off for a few hours. Would this be due to radiator space?

Not really I'm afraid, assuming your GPU doesn't do anything while you're stress testing the CPU. If your GPU is idle it doesn't add much heat to the loop, so the CPU has (almost) the full 240mm for dissipating it's heat. It will be different when you start gaming though. Then both GPU and CPU will dump their heat on the loop.

Nowadays you really need 240 mm per component imo especially with 30 mm thick radiators.

 

Just like how people are quick to shoot down 120 mm AIOs as "not worth it for the money, cooling will be better on air", 120 mm radiator per component is no different in my opinion.

Hi im looking fir informatiom first up ill give you the specs of my pc its a intel i9 9900k in a asus rog strix 390-e main bord has a 500gb m.2 pcie drive 16gb of team force rgb 3000 ram im using a asus rog ryujin 240 mm water block the issue is as soon a i start prime 95 the cpu temp jumps from 35 deg c to 80 deg c in under a second if i let it run for ten minits or so the water temp dont seem to change in the incomming tank side the processer stays in the 80s and slowly rises im using thermal grizzly hydronort thermal paste this is all on stock settings no over clock
