Hi, so I recently bought GTA 5 on sale so I can play GTA again but this time on my PC. I had it up and running yesteday completely fine until I forced-quit the game yesterday night after an infinite load happened.

It's now the next day, and I'm experiencing the infinite loading screen once more, but this time from a Steam launch and not an in-game session, I waited upwards of 12 minutes, what a waste of time.

I need a simple solution to this.

Did you try to mod it at all or is this a clean install of the game?

I installed it literally yesterday and had it running up fine, but today I haven't even been able to load in.

I’ve been experiencing the same during random loading times in online. Not entirely sure why, as last time I played the game (probably 6+ months ago) there were no problems (other than GTA V just generally being long to load).

have you tried doing a hard restart and reopening the game?

you could also try reinstalling or repairing the game

Re-installing the game is a last resort for me, it took a total of 8 hours for that to install. I've validated files on Steam, re-opened the game multiple times, all the basic standard stuff.

That's when I just have my pc run overnight to install.

This is a common bug in GTA. If this is occurring while loading into a GTA Online session, suspending the task will force the game to load you into an empty session. Do this by completing the following:

  • Open Task Manager
  • Go to the Performance Tab
  • Open Resource Monitor (bottom left)
  • Go to the Memory tab
  • Find a process called GTA5
  • Right Click > Suspend Process
  • Wait 5-10 seconds, the game will be completely frozen during this period
  • Right Click > Resume Process

Did you try turning your computer off and putting it on again?

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie,
        In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
        In Flanders fields.

Cry havoc and let slip the Togs of war.  (Signature V3)
