Hi I have a message in DOS when i boot my open air build (will put in case later), the message reads -

Devices Changed (CPU or Memory) or CMOS have been Cleared. Please enter Setup or configure your system.

Press F1 to run setup.

Press F2 to load default values and continue.

Which option should I go with? I have been reslotting the ram and gpu as i was getting some issues getting anything to appear on the monitor at previous first boot attempts, so thats probably whee the first sentence of the message comes from.

Should i go for set up or default values? I do want to overclock my cpu, gpu and ram (3200mhz). I have yet to install an OS ofcourse as this is the first thing I see when I boot and I have yet to move past it as im unsure which choice i should be going for.

You need to install windows on your drive and boot off of it. You need to use windows media creation tool to make a bootable usb. Restart and it should boot off of the usb by default.

If you have windows on your drive then press continue.

Unsure what power supply to pick?

Check out my HTPC build.

just 2. nothing to worry. you probebly had a failed overclock or something changed hardwarewise, or actually cleared the cmos.

Ive been reslotting the ram and gpu, also had forgotten to plug connector pins from psu to gpu on one end, this is my first successful boot with all the parts I intended for the open air build. I have yet to actually see the BIOS, so should i still go for option 2 or consider option 1?

Go for option 2. Option 1 is if you need to make immediate changes. It's much better to OC when you have the OS isntalled, so go ahead and do that first.

Ryzen 7 3700X / 16GB RAM / Optane SSD / GTX 1650 / Solus Linux
