The better question is, what will you be using either for?

The i9 9800X has 44 pci-e lanes vs 16 pci-e lanes on the i9 9900K, it supports AVX516 instructions and quad-channel memory.

The i9 9900K has superior clocks, newer architecture (Skylake 14nm vs Coffee Lake 14++nm), uses Ring Bus opposed to Mesh which is absurdly lower latency resulting better single thread performance.

 

i9 9900K is cheaper, also considering the motherboard and cooling solution.
