I wouldn't risk it unless you can get confirmation that both are wired the same way.

No, Corsair power supply cables aren't compatible with Rosewill power supply cables.

What made you choose this Rosewill Capstone in particular, and why do you need a 750W PSU?

Yeah which one? you might not need a new power supply at all.

Oh a 980 Ti.... if it was 1070 Ti I'd say keep PSU as is, but Maxwell likes sucking more juice, I wouldn't want you to be right on the edge there... even so 750w is a lot more than you'd need still, and regardless all this you shouldn't re-use the older cables just use the new ones.

So what's the problem? You don't need a new 750W power supply for that.

GTX 980Ti power consumption: https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/EVGA/GTX_980_Ti_SC_Plus/28.html

232W average, 263W peak. What is your processor? Unless it's some monster, your CX450M is more than enough.

I see. Check out this power consumption test of different 980 Tis: https://pclab.pl/art67996-59.html

Their test setup is i7-6700K overclocked to 4,7 GHz (I'm sure in this state it consumes even more power than your Ryzen 1500X), four sticks of fast RAM, and the usual things.

As you can see on the chart, the entire setup with EVGA 980 Ti Classified consumes 391W under load in Witcher 3. Their power supply is about 90% efficient, so that translates to 352W of true power consumption.

Since your processor consumes even less power than theirs while having the same graphics card, the conclusion is that your setup will consume even less than 352W under load. So there's no need to replace CX450M.

I looked online and I think it recommends to have a 600w or higher PSU. I think I would rather be safe then sorry.

It recommends 600W as insurance against people who have trash power supplies which can't output their labelled power. CX450M can output 100% of its labelled power continuously, and as you can see from the tests the entire setup won't even come close to that, so there's no place for speculation whether it's safe or not.

No.  Corsair cables are different than Rosewill cables.
