My next project I am sort of organizing so I have a less powerful basic computer for side needs is a ITX AM4. If I decided/could get a mono block regardless of make. Is the 470 chipset worth the extra few $ or would a 450 board provide roughly the same overall performance if similarly spec'ed

The only difference really is that the 470 has more pcie lanes so for itx with a dgpu and M.2 ssd it's fine.

Saw ur title and figured I'd just leave my bio here

Also, the Biostar X370 GTN was a huge surprise for me, being both very affordable and well equipped, so you should check out that or the X470 version, you might like it.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

So if I wanted to run a decent gpu I should get a 470 and could still use m.2. Thanks for that info @FloRolf

The PCIe amount does not matter with itx, you'll always have a single x16 slot and you might have dual m.2, which would already be covered by b450. Ryzen has 20 PCIe lanes from the CPU for m.2 and graphics.

@bio star MOBO.  Thanks for the recommendation. I will look into it. The build is also a blacked out build so if it fits that visual set I will consider it.
