Do you already own the parts? because that's not a good combo, and the RX 570/580 is a better GPU purchase

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

Yeah, I currently own the board but I will be replacing it after I get the rest of the parts, do you think it will hold out until later this year? Lastly is the RX 580 better than the GTX 1060? I just want to be able to play games like rust and some of the newer games coming out.

yeah, but you can't overclock or something. the 580 and 1060 (6gb) are equivelent, so as long as you get a good card, both are fine

Make sure your bios is at least version 4.70 , because that one adds support for Ryzen 2600. that bios was released by Asrock 2018/3/6  .

Yes, the cpu will work, but you won't be able to overclock it, the memory may be limited to 2667 Mhz which reduces performance, and the VRM may be quite hot, considering there's no heatsinks on the VRMs.

Thank you for the answers, do you think I would be better off getting a Ryzen 7 2700? I will be using a Ryzen 3 2200G to update my Bios to the latest version.

depends on your workloads. some benefit from the extra two cores, some don't. Isn't that also second gen? most boards are still with the newest bios included, so if needed you have to get a 1200 for example, not a 2200g

edit: or the boot kit amd provides with only shipping to pay

Sorry I'm not a huge tech guy, but does that mean if the motherboard can use a Ryzen 3 2200G, it can use a Ryzen 7 or would I need a Ryzen 7 to update it to be able to use Ryzen 7 (sorry if I sound really stupid lol).

Edit: Like use a ryzen 7 1700 to update to be able to use the 2700

It would. both are 2nd gen. so it should. but a 2700 might be a little heavy on that mobo. you might want to upgrade your mobo with it. the x470 fatal1ty is 115 dollars in the us after rebate, something like that would work much better
