I just installed a brand new SeaSonic PRIME power supply.

I was a little bit surprised to find mostly flat cables (expect for the main motherboard connector)

It was a little bit pain in the *** to install in my old PC case.

Personally, I would have preferred round ones (like my older, cheaper and non modular PSU).

Is there any advantage of those flat cables ? (over the round ones)

I have an old PC case, not those one with cable that goes behind the motherboard. Maybe having flat is better for new PC cases

I can't imagine SeaSonic trying to save a few $$$ on cables for a PSU of such a price so it must be better than round ones right ?

They look better and are easier to work with because they are flat.

Flat is easier to fit behind the motherboard tray so that you can put the side panel on without having to squish everything.

Everyone who knows what he/she's doin would like that.

Problem is that people who don't work with the stuff much want that flat ribbon shit...

Some older users are saying stuff like: We're finally happy to got rid of the Flat Ribbon Cables only to see them come back in another way..

In the End I'm OK with Flat Ribbon Drive Cables but PCIe and CPU and especially ATX 24pin should be sleeved...
