Wrong cable

Most PSU’s ship with a cable that is rated that high, it is standard. It simply means that the cable is rated to carry 1200w of power. I’m assuming you mean from the wall to the PSU itself

Unfortunately it is possible.  Not all cables are the same, usually only among lines.  I can use the cables that come with a 850 P2 with my 650 P2 but EVGA said no to use any others, use the ones that come with it.   They could be wrong but not worth risking.

 

It's not the cable that's the issue really, if the PSU's have their connections in ANY different orders and you use the cable meant for PSU A on PSU B, then the cable will be delivering the wrong business to the component and potentially hurting it.

I meant like the cable was taken from an evga 1200w power supply

You're just talking about the AC power cord?

 

Then don't worry about it.  Higher wattage PSUs will typically have heavier gauge wire, but all other things are standard.

Ha, never even occurred to me that he could be talking about the power cable, as those have been interchangeable for decades.  Sorry for misunderstanding.

but do you mean the AC imput power cord? in that case they all follow the same standards IIRC

 

the 1200W AC cable could even be "better" because it is meant to handle more current so it should be thicker
