Samsung 970 Evo compatibility with ASUS Maximus VIII Hero?

Hi guys, I’ve been having issues with my SSD M.2 970 Evo and was wondering whether it may be down to compatibility with my motherboard which is a ASUS Maximus VIII Hero! Thanks for the help in advance.

What is the issue you are having?
The board is compatible with PCIe 3.0 x4 SSDs, so it shouldn't be a compatibility issue.

The issue seems to be that the 970 EVO just isn’t being detected I’ve reinstalled it a few times as well.
