Hello, I'm new to the forum, and I have a question about a new gaming rig I am thinking of building.

I have a budget of 2500$ (but I live in Norway so I dont get as much per dollars as you guys in America do) And I was wondering if you have any suggestions about replacing parts because of bottlenecks or anything, or if this is a good choice of components..

Case: Cosmos SE(midi tower)

Mobo: MSI Z87-G45(socket 1150)

Processor: Intel Core i7-4770k

Video-card: MSI Twin Frozr IV 780ti

RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600MHz(8 GB)

Power supply: Corsair RM1000(80 plus gold)

Harddrive: WD Black 1TB(I have a ssd from before, a intel one, don't know it's name)

OS: Win8,1 64 bit

thanks in advance

You can save some money by getting a less powerful PSU (sth like 750W) and maybe (because it's a gaming rig) get an i5 4670K and spend the difference on some better cooling.

You dont really need 1000W unless you plan on adding another GPU in the future. Looks good otherwise.

Is there anything you like about the Cosmos SE specifically? Ive heard bad reviews from this case thus far. Also a lot of people are having issues with longer graphics cards and full atx motherboards.. Best to google some reviews

Im going to get another gpu after my confirmation(think its what its called, some christian tradition where I get money), im 14 years old now so its not that long until my confirmation, so im "overdimentioning" it to be ready for that.. :)

Gonna check the reviews for it, I just like the look of it :)

Edit: I will also get watercooling when I get money for my confirmation.

(irrellevant for most of you: if you wonder about how I get money, I work for my parents on our farm)

Any suggestions on cases I should look at? some of the big guys like cooler master and corsair, cause not all cases are sold here..

Edit: I decided I will go for the Cosmos SE, really like the look of it, and im gonna mod it a bit so the -'s in the review's aren't gonna be such a big deal. :)

(If you know a case similar in design to the cosmos SE please tell me..)

The psu is overkill even if you plan to sli. A decent 850w would be plenty as is.

Caviar blacks aren't really worth the money over the cheaper and slightly slower barracuda.

There's no point getting an i7 over the i5 for gaming.

I wont really downgrade the configuration, I meant asking about if there was something I had to upgrade to avoid bottlenecks.

Why is there no point in getting an i7 over an i5? I would think there is an advantage getting the i7 over the i5, and not the other way around.

And why would I go for a slower hdd?

An i7 is just an i5 with hyperthreading and a bit more cache. HT doesn't really help for gaming for the most part.

I see, I'll look around and see what I choose.
