Hey so I have had an issue where my cpu is working at 100% on task manager even when I am running no programs. I noticed this when I tried playing doom. I monitored the cpu and gpu in game and the gpu had no problem on max settings as it is an msi gtx 1080. However the intel i7 8700k could barely handle the load. It made the game stutter like crazy. I have tried numerous online suggestions, most of which suggested turning superfetch off, and none of it worked. I ran intels processor testing program as well as a ram diagnostic scan and both had no issues. I scanned for malware as well and no threats anywhere are found. There are no programs on task manager that shown loading up my cpu. I also reinstalled windows twice as well as redid most drivers. I’m out of ideas and hope someone can help.

It's probably a windows process running in the background using your CPU.

It should show you what process it is in task manager.

That's one of the problems. Task manager isn't showing what program is causing this to happen.

Can you disable that xbox gaming stuff in your windows settings or try to kill the processes?

Didn't do anything. The only processes that say they are running are ones that are being utilized right now to be able to talk on this forum. Also idk if this helps anything but it also says that it has a 99 percent idle time so...

The fact that idle process is at 99% means that 99% of your CPU is not being used, aka only 1% is.
