Civ 5 turn time issues

Scitesh

Playing immortal as japan

12 civs

20 City states

Quick settings

Continents +(large)

I play the game with almost the same settings and I've noticed that turn times after hitting enter is much quicker on my home pc (3770k @4.6 ghz, gtx 970,8gb)

Them my dorm pc (r7 1700 @4.1 ghz, gtx 1080,16gb)

I've tried both at 1080p and 1440p(super sampling on home pc) and turn times on dorm pc are about 2 mins and home pc is about 40 to 50s

While the turn times are entirely CPU related, I don't think the Ryzen build should take that long. Ryzen's IPC should be on par with Haswell's and even then, a 0.5 GHz difference here should only increase the time to complete a turn by around 5 seconds. A 200%+ difference doesn't make sense.

Since I want to experiment with this idea some more, see if forcing the processor affinity (Task Manager -> Details -> right click on the game in the list) to use only CPUs 0-7 or 8-15 makes it run better.

Dorm pc uses M. 2 ssd for os and Seagate barracuda for games

Home pcs run fully on hard disks

I am at home right now for winter break and thus won't be able to access my dorm pc
