Hey!

So i recently bought a new gpu (1080ti) and im waiting for my new psu aswell so i can use it finally, but my main problem is will there be a big bottleneck with my other components 

i have:
B150m motherboard
16 gigs of ddr3 memory running on 1666mhz
i5-6500 on turbo mode

i heard that even with 1070ti there will be a huge bottleneck but im not sure.

depends on the game, refresh rate, resolution. but yes, you're going to be more CPU limited in most games released.

 

side note; this is why would should do research and find the answer to these questions before spending a large amount of money.

The normal 1070 will be bottlenecks by that I5 even, if you want to solve your bottleneck then buy an I7 8700

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Depends on the game. And remember,  bottlenecks always exist. Don't worry about it too much.

My brother's i5 7400 bottlenecks his 970 in overwatch and for Honor. You could use an i7 6700 or something off eBay.

the i7 6th gen or i5 8600k will do it, no need to go all the way to i7 8700

Depends on the game and res. 8700k barely handles a regular 1080 on 1080p playing bo4. Isnt much better on 1440. Get the best you can bring yourself to spend.

Why were DDR3L Skylake motherboards ever a thing... Either ways you'll probably have to update your BIOS to support Kaby Lake and then throw an i7 7700 on it, with better cooling than Intel's Stock and disable all power limits within motherboard.

 

Or just save up for an i7 8700 as someone else mentioned, either way yes there will be bottlenecks as is, the 1080 Ti needs more than 4 threads to be fully utilized, even at 4k you'll have bad frametime and 1% lows with a low clocked 4 threads CPU only.
