I don't trust that PSU either, I'd aim for a Corsair CX550M

If it's second hand, then I'd buy it and then upgrade the PSU.

  • Asus Z370-P isn't the best board for overclocking, but to the credit of the builder they at least use a Z series board
  • PSU isn't very good
  • Get a proper SSD and a proper HDD instead of a FireCuda hybrid.

Other than that, the value is fairly decent for what you're getting... To buy a similar system new you would be looking well over 800 pounds. So used for 490 pounds seems like a fair deal. Put some money towards a new PSU and a SSD.

CPU: Intel i7 6700k  | Motherboard: Gigabyte Z170x Gaming 5 | RAM: 2x16GB 3000MHz Corsair Vengeance LPX | GPU: Gigabyte Aorus GTX 1080ti | PSU: Corsair RM750x (2018) | Case: BeQuiet SilentBase 800 | Cooler: Arctic Freezer 34 eSports | SSD: Samsung 970 Evo 500GB + Samsung 840 500GB + Crucial MX500 2TB | Monitor: Acer Predator XB271HU + Samsung BX2450

What are you going to be using your PC for? Gaming/streaming/video editing? The part list will depend on that.

What kind of games? 2 nearly identical builds are above, main difference of GPU and case. If it's low end games you can save money on the GPU but if it's demanding titles like witcher 3 you may need to spend more on the GPU. Either way, this build will be more futureproof because of the RX 580 and the one gig stick of ram which can be upgraded to dual channel 16 gigs in the future, but otherwise it's basically the same:

This is what I would go for gaming. The i3-8100 is quite a bit faster with quad core than the R5 1400, so you will get more FPS in games with the RX 570 which is a good deal ATM and can easily be upgraded in the future. This motherboard only has 2 DIMM slots so there is only one stick of RAM so it can be upgraded to 16GB in the future if you find that is an issue (I find 8GB is plenty for gaming). The Optane drive with the 2 TB HDD means you will have SSD like performance while being able to store lots of games because I seem to run out of space all the time with only 1TB.

Edit: Also the RAM speed does not matter as much on Intel so you can get away with slower RAM and it not affect the games

B450M pro has 4 ram slots so getting 8GB in a single stick, aspecially with ryzen isn't really a good idea.

Ok. Fine. Can you justify why?

From what I can see you changed in contrast to my "wrong" build:

-the GPU to a RX580 (fine, if he wants to spend more)

-The SSD for some reason

-Got a worse memory config (the B450M has 4 ram slots, no need to get a single stick, it will hurt performance)

-Got an outdated case with poor airflow.

-Got a worse PSU.

I do not mean to be hostile but, please don't judge others without justification. It's easy. I am happy to hear why you think your build is better. In fact if I would have added an RX580 the price of my build would be very similar to yours.

Sorry for acting a little bit harsh.

After rethinking it a bit i also don't know why I changed half the things, however the Corsair 88R isn't a bad case (I have it actually, pretty cool temps). I did get a worse memory config however the speed was slightly higher (DDR4-3000 instead of DDR4-2666), so it should be about equal.

About the RX 580, SSD and PSU i don't know why lol
