Z97 compatible with H81

My current motherboard, msi z97 sli kriat, broke down. And I'm now in search of a new motherboard. The problem I'm having is that I can only find h81 motherboards in the lga 1150 socket. So I'm asking is it possible to install my i7 4790k into a h81 motherboard. 

 

P.s I live in South Africa, and they don't ship the z97 motherboard here anymore.

Both sockets are LGA 1150, so, it would be supported.

It's possible that the H81 motherboard's BIOS isn't updated to support Devil's Canyon... highly unlikely but possible. In that case you would need a Haswell CPU in order to flash the BIOS. Other than that it should work fine.
