Thank you, but I've been watching youtube videos on it but I am still confused. I feel like Im not going to do it right.

All major SSDs like Samsung and Kingston come with a clone software. They are pretty simple to use, you just need to plug your SSD to a usb to sata adapter (in case of a laptop) or to the sata cable and click clone to copy the files from the HDD to it. Then just boot from your SSD, maybe you will need to select it on your bios.

So recently I just got an SSD. I want windows to run on it but how would I do that If I already have window 10 on my hard drive?

You have a many options on how to have the SSD implemented into your computer system:

1) Duplicate HDD data to the SSD if it is large enough and have the HDD for like file storage for the user/s

2)  Have Windows 10 migrated over to the SSD (could cause it potentially to inactivate) and use the HDD as an attached drive

3) use RAID 0 on all of your system's data across both of the drives

Although, going back to the Original Poster's main question, I would use a drive cloning software to take everything over to the SSD and then erase the HDD and then have it cut and paste from the SSD based on things which you conciser not needed to be accessed with high speed like pictures and videos. That only works if the SSD is large enough, otherwise cloning software is excellent and will guide you through their processes for transferring data across drives. Maybe get Windows and a few highly accessed files onto the SSD and keep everything else on the HDD?

Hope this information post was helpful  ?,

I always have my docs, photos, videos and download folders on different drive to windows.

I can reinstall windows and then just point it back to the other drive and I am back up and running quickly.

I also have a downloads folder full of installers for my usual programs.

I had to reintstall windows 3 times recently as I build my system and then refreshed my storage solutions.

You can clone your drive with several tools out there, one is EaseUS:

But many have reported having had better results installing a fresh Windows copy than cloning, do clean installation if want just to have the OS, use this link to create the bootable installation media, click the create tool button under "Create Windows 10 installation media":
