Motherboard/Case/RAM/CPU Cooler Compatibility Problems

ben127127

Hey all - so this post has two questions. My PC that I've just started ordering has this CPU cooler: https://noctua.at/en/products/cpu-cooler-retail/nh-u14s. The NH-u14s has a height of 165mm. My build also has this case: https://www.nzxt.com/products/h500-matte-black-red. The H500 has a max CPU cooler height of 165mm. My first question is if that is too much of a risk - the height of the CPU cooler is exactly at the max CPU cooler height my case lists. Am I fine/do companies build in a little wiggle room anyway? Just want to make sure I have nothing to worry about there.

My next question is similar - the Noctua-u14s warns that sometimes overhangs the first RAM slot, depending on the motherboard, and therefore if using this cooler keep the RAM height at or below 32mm. My RAM (https://www.gskill.com/en/product/f4-3200c16d-16gtzb) has a height of 44mm. I couldn't figure out whether it would even be a problem with my motherboard(https://www.asrock.com/MB/Intel/Z390 Phantom Gaming 4/index.asp#Manual), but I guess we'll find out (unless someone here can figure it out?). But my question is whether this would even be a problem if it did occur. Can I just use my 3rd and 4th slots? Is it going to make any significant difference?

I know this is kinda a big two questions so I understand if they can't be answered, but I figured I'd at least ask. Thanks for any responses!

I'll aswer the first: yes, there is a reason they list it as a maximum height. so it fits. no further discussion required. but I'm not sure on the ram and motherboard
