The Righ cpu for my graddas Christmas present

Galion

I'm building anew pc for my grandpa's Christmas present to replace his 6 Yr old computer.

He watches YouTube, netflix and plays mmorpg a lot, I was thinking 2400G or r5 2600.

If you have a better suggestion please do suggest

Thank you

Will you be putting a gpu into his system? If you are then the 2600 is far better since it has the clockspeed and cache improvements of zen+. If not then the option would go to the 2400g obviously.

Make sure to pair either of them with good ram such as this, especially since it's only about $10 more than a 2400mhz kit.

does gramps need 3200mhz? I think 3000 is fine unless you pay less for 3200. If hes just doing mmorpg then a little slower than 3000 might even be fine. Ryzen does do better with faster ram, but I doubt your grandpa needs it.

I guess so, but I'm sure it's at most a few extra dollars so why not

make sure you check. Ram is changing a LOT right now because its dropping ever so slightly. Actually, as I'm typing I just remembered that a kit of T-Force Vulcan DDR4-2400mhz is like $95 USD.
