That is what Magisk for, it allows you to pass the safety net check allowing various apps to work such as netflix which will not install on custom roms unless safetynet is passed. but google pay shouldnt work as the poco f1 does not have NFC

Can someone tell me if this could work with the Meizu Pro 5 32Gb phone?

I'm running android 5.1 with the EMUI and have been happy with it, but some apps don't work because of my old version of Android.

I'd prefer try to change the OS then buy a new phone...

Yes you can! Go to Meizu Pro 5 XDA, and you can download RessurectionRemix with Android Nougat there. You may ask at xda if you're still confused in flashing your phone.

1. Will I be able to hide the notch on Poco after installing?

2. What features will I lose after installing this? He mentioned the IR camera won't work (which is fine by me) but will other features work? 
3. Is the experience as smooth as on a Pixel 3 XL? 

4. Will there be any speed reduction after installation? In comparison to the stock MIUI 10 the Poco F1 comes with, how slow will be the custom android Pie?

No NFC is a killer for me. However for those who don't care the time invested shouldn't equal the hundreds saved, if it does either you make a large chunk of change or you're not following instructions.

 

I like OLED but at least IPS won't get burn in.
