BIOS versions add compatibility, they don't remove it (yet). Once the Ryzen 3 (Zen2) chips launch, the only chips to be dropped would be the awful Faildozer A-series APUs.

Yes, of course it will work.

BIOS updates almost never disable functionality, and keep everything backwards compatible.

What Neliz is saying is that on SOME motherboards which have a bios chip that's too small, there's little space to add support for a new generation of processors (Zen2) when they'll launch.

In order to make room, on such boards the manufacturer may remove support for the first AM4 processors produced and sold to OEMs only, which used the older pre-ryzen cores. Some makers may simply refuse to add support (for example boards with A320 chipset, the value one, may not receive updates)

$160 CAD is an incredible deal for a Ryzen 5 2600! I purchased mine the first week they launched and it cost me $269 CAD. They seem to fluctuate from $209 - $239 CAD nowadays.
