It is a little better, but not worth the upgrade in my opinion. If you're planning on a upgrade, look into the vega, high end 10 or 20 series.

im not trying to spend much and my 390 is like 1 year older then my whole rig. ill get frame drops in same games when they are on max settings at 1080p but in VR most games will get dropped frames and it hurts my head

Oh really? Tried any benchmarks yet? I would suggest userbenchmark and share the results with me. Maybe something comes out so you don't have to spend money on a new gpu
