Used Laptop/2 in 1 for under 500$

So I am looking to get a used laptop or 2 in 1 for under 500$. I will use it only for web browsing mostly for homework and JEE(like SAT) prep and for watching stuff on youtube. I need it to last me for 2 years at least.

I think any decent 4th gen Intel processor and up should be fine. I will at max have 3 tabs open with calculator and some music in the background so 4GB is enough bit 8GB is preferable. Storage is no problem even 5GB after OS installation is enough for me since all photos and documents are stored on main laptop. I want a good screen at least 1080p IPS with decent brightness. I think 5 hours of battery life is enough but more is welcome.

No OS preference but I haven't used macOS so far but I think I can learn.I don't need anything powerful but I am looking for something thin and light with good build quality and battery life. Also smaller the better anywhere between 10" and 13.3" is fine.

I have thought about getting a used Macbook which models can I get under 500$. I considered an iPad but a website that I constantly use doesn't play well with mobile OS. I have also considered getting the 400$ Surface Go but Windows S is a nuisance as I can't set Google as search engine(I use edge) or run .exe files. Otherwise the Go is a great option especially with its great build quality and kickstand.

If I can find a used Macbook locally in India for  a decent price then I will go for it otherwise I will get my friend to bring me a used laptop in December.

Any other laptops I should look at??? Is there any way I can get used Dell XPS 13s under 500$?? Any workarounds to install .exe files in Windows 10 S??? What about older Surface Pro 3s???

Also any particular 13" Macbooks I should look out for???

I have thought about chromebooks but the battery life is a concern and screen quality as well. I spend most of my time watching videos or lectures so.

The HP Stream is on my list as a backup for now. Thx anyway.

I am not considering Macbook Airs because their screens are very bad unless you cab find it for 200$ I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

What would be the best chromebook at a decent price?? Smaller form factor is better but 13" is the sweet spot between weight and battery life. Any decent CPU that can run a few browser tabs and playback 4K video is enough. 8GB RAM is good but 4GB is also ok if it is upgradeable. 128GB of storage would be nice but any capacity will work for me. My main concern is decent build quality, and a good 1080p IPS panel. I don't need any particular ports at all as long as the audio output is decent(via the jack) and the WiFi card is good or replaceable. @ZM Fong Help pls. Also any decent Windows 2 in 1 used or new under 500$??

In India Not much, a few good chromebooks exist but used stuff is just as expensive as brand new stuff here especially Macbooks and newer laptops. Old Thinkpads are very low-specced. I am going to wait till the Surface Go launches or hopefully find a decent used Macbook pro deal. I am also considering asking my friends to buy the device in USA and bring it to me when they visit in December. In that case, I might be able to get much better prices on used Macbooks or Surface devices and even other cheaper Windows Machines.
