Need help choosing 1440p Monitor

HamsterPlayz

Hey guys, I've been looking at numerous monitors to get for my gaming rig:

  • Asus PG278QR - 27 1440p 165hz TN 1ms
  • Asus PG279Q - 27 1440p 165hz IPS 4ms
  • Asus PG27VQ - 27 1440p 165hz TN Curved 1ms
  • Any other 27+ 1440p 144hz monitor

Can you please help me make a choice or suggest any other option for a monitor.

From those 3 personally I would go with Asus PG279Q because of IPS panel and better colors.

Yeah, I was looking at those 3 but its a hard choice as IPS is not necessary as I do not do any colour important work but from what I heard the colours you get in games are still so worth it, but then if its not IPS I am finding it hard to justify weather the curve on the PG27VQ is necessary

I had TN monitor before, then I upgraded to IPS panel. To be honest I didn't see much difference in colors but all the peeps are saying that IPS is much better panel than TN and TN is obsolete & most modern monitors are using IPS panel now, plus I had issues with my old TN monitor (scratched it accidentally), so I jumped to IPS one and as I said I didn't notice big difference in colors, but I didn't put them aside to compare, but I'm happy with my choice.

As for curved or not curved one, it's for personal preference.

I went from TN to IPS and for a while I still had them both. When having the same picture on both monitors you'll definitely see a difference. IPS has much beter colors imo. So I would go for the Asus PG279Q.

I have the Asus MG279Q (IPS 144Hz 4ms) in case you're wondering.

Cheers.

I had an LG - 27MP37HQ-B 27.0" 1920x1080 and found it really hard on my eyes.

Got a BenQ - GW2765HT 27.0" 2560x1440 and it's been great.
