Camera

So Ive sorted out a editing pc, but I just need to decide on a camera

I'll be wanting

1080p video at 60fps

Good for taking pictures

Microphone input

So far I've got a Nikon d5300 in mind

Is there anything cheaper I could get, I'd preferably like one with a moveable screen

Thx

Do you currently have any lenses or lenses in mind?

What mic setup are you using? Normally I have found the built in audio jacks to be pretty bad on some cameras, idk about the 5300.

What type of video are you shooting?

I was gonna get a rode mic for whatever cam I get and I would want a 18-55 mm

I'm a personal trainer so it will be in the gym and some occasional outside pics

Id personally get a lens like a 35 or 50mm aswell, those 18-55 zooms aren't great, and the fixed lenes are normally a bit sharper with better low light due to the lower apture.

What type of audio are you working with? For people taking in somehting like a gym where its normally not quiet a lapel mic is waht you want here.

The mic won't be used in the gym, it will be used for audio recordings (voice overs) and for audio for videos I'll make at home (no noise but me) @Electronics Wizardy

Go with Canon if you'll be doing video. Ideally, something like the 800d or 200d, with an 18-55mm STM. Depending on the sort of thing you will be doing, you could use either a 50mm 1.8 STM or a wideangle like the 10-18mm.

Yh the 200d was another one I was looking at, but the d5300 and 200d are basicly the same spec wise with a £70 diffrence, so I didn't think it would matter. But as you say the 200d would be better for me, I shall go for that one, thx

Never go Nikon if you plan on shooting video mainly. Buy Canon, Sony or Panasonic if video is your main interest.
