Multi Monitor Question

cooky560

So my LAN pc is going multi monitor! The original g1 980ti in the case had 2 DVI ports so to solve problems regarding priority, I just used both DVI ports, however my new 1080ti only has 1 dvi port, 3 dp and  1 hdmi port.

1 of my screens supports display port the other supports either dvi or hdmi.

if I connect dvi and display port at the same time (the hdmi connection creates an annoying blue screen when changing resolution / restarting) will the g1 gaming 1080ti pick up the display port or the dvi port first?

no clue but you can change the order of the displays in windows anyway so what does it really matter?

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

it matters because in the past windows has refused to the monitors in the order I want if the type of connection differed.

Generally the boot order is VGA > DVI > HDMI > DP (for Nvidia at least) and it's fixed. So there's a good chance the DVI monitor will turn on first, but this has nought to do with Window's display priority AFAIK.
