Anthony Bourdain

Canada EH
Go to solution Solved by Canada EH,

There are a lot of people who have committed suicide who were in sports. Wrestling, Football, Rugby, Hockey and even Boxing, so any sport with lots of hits to the head. I wonder if it really has any connection with prescription medications and taking them morally or if there is always a mix of say alcohol and illegal drugs and contributing factors such as divorce, bankruptcy, loss of custody. It would be a real interesting statistic to find out from the professionals.

One thing is for sure, if you are struggling seek help immediately. There are help phone lines you can call whether you are in the USA, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, Germany, France, Ireland, Spain, Russia, Japan, China, pretty much any country. Also there are chat rooms online. Just use a simple Google search and it will come up.

Reach out and talk.

Dead at 61 worth an estimated $16M, last of 2 divorces 2 years ago.

He hung himself, in a hotel room in France the morning of doing a shoot.

Ex Heroin/Cocaine Addict, yet active alcoholic trying to "control" his drinking based on what I've seen on his shows. So Anothony delved back into it hard, reminds me a lot of Chris Cornells death who hung himself in a hotel room in Vegas, and he was on a garbage can of drugs too.

Well RIP Anthony Bourdain, you will be missed.

I watched his shows with my family because of the travel aspect.

Anyone else watch his shows?

Except happiness. Just like Chris Cornell worth an estimated $60M, but a garbage can of drugs in his system too!

Others who left us..........

Mark Madoff was the son of Bernie Madoff, who was convicted of running the biggest Ponzi scheme in history and imprisoned for life in 2008. Mark hung himself two years to the day after his father's arrest. His widow believes that the guilt of being related to his father was what caused his depression and eventual death.

On August 11, 2014, Robin Williams committed suicide by hanging at the age of 63. The comedian had suffered from depression throughout much of his adult life.

Freddie Prinze committed suicide by shooting himself in the head in 1977, at the age of 22. The comedian had a history of depression, and was going through a divorce at the time of his death. His son, Freddie Prinze, Jr., was less than a year old.

Christopher Michael Benoit(May 21, 1967 – June 24, 2007) was a Canadian professional wrestler who wrestled for Extreme Championship Wrestling, World Championship Wrestling, and World Wrestling Entertainment. A two-time World Heavyweight Champion, he was widely regarded as one of the best technical professional wrestlers of his generation. Chris Benoit, his wife Nancy, and their 7-year-old son Daniel were found dead in their Fayetteville, Georgia home on June 25, 2007. Authorities later confirmed Benoit killed his wife and son, and later himself.

More quotes......

Bourdain began dating the Italian actress in 2017, after she appeared on an episode of Parts Unknown filmed in her hometown of Rome. She recently directed an upcoming episode set in Hong Kong, and Bourdain would often consult her for her rich knowledge of music and film when putting together the series.

Quote

“But here’s the thing, over their time together, thankfully, she did the work to get help, so she could stay alive and live another day for her and her children. Anthony’s depression didn’t let him, he put down his armor, and that was very much his choice. His decision, not hers. His depression won,” she remarked.
