HP Probook 450 G2 Screen Cuts Out

My parent's HP Probook G2 has been having connectivity issues with the display when it is opened or moved. Just a few minutes ago I had to open and close the display 5 or 6 times before the screen would display the desktop instead of grey vertical lines. I'm almost certain its not a driver issue as this only occurs when the laptop screen is physically moved relative to the body. I expect a bad connection or bad wire so I'm planning to disassemble it and examine the connection between the motherboard and the display. Any thoughts on this?
