Monitor switches to power saving mode as soon as CPU is turned on.

Monitor switches to power saving mode as soon as I hit power on the CPU.
I am not sure what went wrong! Please help.

System specs:
Memory: 1GB DDR3 (All it had on it was Made in Malaysia and a few stickers with serial numbers)
Hard Drive: 320GB SATA II Hitachi HDD 7200 RPM
CPU: Intel Pentium E5500
Board: Lenovo L-IG41M3 motherboard
GPU: Integrated graphics (Intel)
