I'd do this. It's a little under budget, and you get a good quality board, good quality case with 5.25" support, nice PSU and a cooler that should handle overclocking well. You can augment it by adding a better looking CPU cooler if that's your thing. I don't know if you want help with a keyboard and mouse or not though.

Thank you. I'm really sorry about the caps rage and the 2 topics but I was hoping for a post like this from the start of this mess. I buy my kb/mouse locally so I can test them out in store.

You really don't need to spend $500, should go X470 just because.

Honestly, I'd say it isn't worth going X470 if you can get a really nice X370 board for less than MSRP now. There's no real benefit to running X470 on a 1st gen chip, and by the time an upgrade makes sense X470's features won't be relevant to Ryzen 3.

Better to have it then not to have it, not like the motherboard in that tier is going to make any major performance difference.

Don't be sorry, I understand the concern about wanting to focus only on the other components (especially since it appears you already have the stuff listed.)

Just some advice if you going to put that amount of ram and use a Zen CPU I would suggest getting 3000 MHZ ram  it help your CPU a lot.

I should explain... I had to move... when I did the pc went into storage for a week... when it came out mobo would not post... at all... nothing responded... then after disconnecting everything the power supply wouldn't even power a fan when hooked up with a jumper. the case and cooler were crap from the start and got to meet my friend, Mr. hammer (after pealing the CPU off because it was glued on with too much thermal paste... I'll use less this build)

The CPU has no bent pins... I hope it works.

That is very strange, was it just like really humid in that storage or something? Well w/e, would suggest X470 and all the stuff I posted, If your CPU doesn't work then you have an X470 board already for Ryzen 2.

Okay also I guess I'll take the SSD off the list because it was there in case it did fit in the budget but it got bumped off.

Oh it looks like your case lacks a 5.25 bay... I'll switch over to the phanteks that was suggested.

looks like the ssd can stay on the list for now.... we will see how prices are on may 1st.

It has 2 hard drive bays in the bottom compartment. It's mostly just an airflow focused case.
