Which LED Strips Should I Take ?

RIG :

  • Asrock Killer SLI ( Mobo )
  • ryzen 7 1700 (CPU )
  • NZXT S340 Elite (Case)
  • TX550M Corsair (PSU)

  1. Which led strips do i need for this build , which are compatible ?
  2. Do i need extra wires or something ?
  3. Do they plug in the PSU ?

They usually plug into a rgb header on a motherboard. Any strips will work. I think some have external psu power if they are really big because rgb headers can't deliver massive amounts of power.

But based on these specs ( the case in particular ) how many meters do i need ?

Do they need to be waterproof or sth ?

And to control them ( say i want them to be red only ) do i need to buy a specific colour , or need a controler ?

Could you recommend me some models ?

Your motherboard should have a RGB header on the board itself, otherwise it really doesn't matter. Because buying the "gaming" RGB LED's is silly since they jack the price up because it's says "gaming" or "PC Case". Otherwise they sell strips for like nothing on Amazon.

You could just buy red led strips, or just set them to red with your motherboard if it has the header. Some motherboards let you control them through the header if you have an actual rgb header. But if yours doesn't you can get some sort of controller.

1. Not 100% since each board uses a different wiring setup.

2. No, Everything is done through the header.

3. No.

Current Build: Project Frost
Gaming Rig Build: Project Ice Dragon
