[Question]How to clean a pc?/i5-8400 should i get a cooler?

so i'm wondering but the dust that builds up overtime in pc.

1.should i simply use an air blower? and just blow out the dust? or is that bad?

2. every how much time should i clean it? 1 month or how much

CPU Question.

1.Should i get a proper cooler for my cpu i5-8400 when i'm simply only playing games?

2. if i wanna overclock does that mean i need a proper cpu cooler? so the i5-8400 went just go "boof"

3. cant i just keep the computer case open? to keep parts cooled down? if no then why?

I highly unrecommend keeping a case open, thats how you get the most dust. Put filters on your vents, For the i5-8400 you can use the stock cooler. Unless your baller like me and puts a cooler on anything.

1: That's usually the best way, you can buy cans of compressed air specifically for dusting electronics.

2: Once every 3 months is usually how I do it.

CPU Questions:

1: The i5-8400 is good with the stock cooler.

2: The i5-8400 is a locked CPU, which means you can't overclock at all.

3: Highly unrecommended, that is how you get the most dust in a system.

I have a air compressor in the garage and I just use that, I used to have my old case open all the time but I didn't mind the dust, I just cleaned it every 4-5 months in my garage

It comes to how clean your room is, and how many fluffy stuff you have around (like carpets, cats etc). My PC is open for half a year now, hasnt accumulated enough dust to make my mother angry. In fact, I cant see any dust unless I look closely with a torch.

^^ great suggestions there. Another super janky way of cleaning your pc is using a leaf blower and holding the fans still.

A leaf blower? Nice, what could go wrong?!

wont a simple hair air blower. do? instead of buying "cans of compressed air specifically for dusting electronics." ? if no then how so? and why is it bad.

A hair dryer doesn't have the pressure and accuracy needed for dusting electronics.

The stock cooler is more than enough, though if you want to keep noise levels down a cooler with a bigger heatsink will let the fan spin slower and therefore be quieter. Something cheap like the hyper 212x will do.

I would recommend against. If it has cool air switch then maybe yes. But you are risking a bit with static it creates. Air compressor and canned air, or some handpump. Have vacuum near by to suck flying dust in and clean dust filters and vents from outside.

As for coolers, just for temps you don't need anything. If you want something quieter, there are tons of good budget coolers. For overclocking you need K-series CPU and possibly another mobo.

I clean my PC about 3-5 times a year. Usually when upgrading or changing something. Or when I have to disconnect it for other reasons. I clean my single-room apartment bi-weekly. If you have pets, make that weekly or twice a week.

i guess ill just stick to air blower [cool air] because i don't see whats different between this and canned air/air compressor.

The difference is that blower and vacuum have active motors creating air movement. Compressor has motor, but it builds up pressure in tank. Canned air is pre-pressurized. But up to you. Jayz showed that static is unlikely to kill running PC hardware anyway, and risky part is open CPU socket.
