Cryorig R1 Universal Compatibility

acid1011

I currently have an i7-8700k with an ASUS ROG Strix z370-F cooled with  hyper 212x.

I'm thinking about upgrading my cooling but unwilling to switch to AIOs.
Cryorig R1 Universal seems to be perfect for me as it doesnt interfere with the RAM slots (important factor as im using 2x G.Skill Trident Z RGB, and want the RGB glory to be visible all the time :D)
BUT..... i've seen in some reviews that the R1 MAY cause clearance issues with the first GPU slot in some mobos.

I want to know if any of u guys know whether the first slot will be blocked in the mobo i'm using.

It will probably hang over the first slot but that's the reason why the first slot is a x1 and the second slot down is the x16 where you plug in your graphics card.

No, it won't be blocked.

Should be fine, you'll lose access to the very top 1x slot and M.2 slot, but your top 16x slot should be fine.

If you want to be extra sure Cryorig has this origami type thing you can download off the R1 universal product page.  http://www.cryorig.com/r1-universal.php

You can use it to represent the size of the cooler, and use it to check for interference with other components.
